Herman Howry & Breen L.L.P. Helps Habitat for Humanity Surpass their Goal with Golf Tournament Fundraiser

In May 2004, Herman Howry & Breen L.L.P. helped sponsor the Austin Habitat for Humanity Home on the Green Golf Tournament which exceeded its goal to finance the building of a new home for a local partner family. “The wonderful folks at Herman Howry & Breen L.L.P. provided sponsorship for the tote bag that each player received who participated in the event,” comments Brent Jenkins, officer in the Development Department for Austin Habitat for Humanity.

This was the fifth year for the golf tournament. The goal for the event was to raise enough funds to fully sponsor a Habitat home for a local partner family. Austin Habitat builds homes with qualifying partner families. The family then buys the home from Habitat at 0% interest. Homeowner payments help to build more homes.

The Home on the Green event exceeded its goal of $60,000! “Only with partners in the community like Herman Howry & Breen is this miracle possible,” Jenkins adds.

Herman Howry & Breen continues its support of this important community program with partner Randy Howry’s commitment to head the annual Legal Build 1904 Committee of the Travis County Bar Association. This will be the third year for the Legal Build. Law firms and Associations from all over Travis County come together to provide funding and volunteer work to build a Habitat home.
