Legal Build Needs Support of Attorneys
The Austin Bar Association is coordinating fundraising efforts to complete the construction of a home in southeast Austin that is part of the Austin Habitat for Humanity Legal Build program. The house will become the home of Raymundo and Martha Castillo and their two children. A total of $60,000 needs to be raised to complete the house’s construction and finish out
“The hope is that we have the money raised by January so we can start construction on the house,” comments Michael Willard, executive director, Austin Habitat for Humanity. “The Bar is a little over one-sixth of the way toward meeting their goal.”
“The Legal Build program is an opportunity for attorneys and law firms in the Austin area to give back to the community,” says Randy Howry, chair of the Habitat for Humanity Legal Build program. “In addition to monetary support, we are looking for individuals and firms who can give up a Saturday to help complete the construction and finish out of the house,” he says.
